Bursts of colour

But whenever I see you, I burst apart
And scatter the sky with my blazing heart.
It spits and sparkles in the stars and balls,
Buds into roses – and flares, and falls
Fireworks - Amy Lowell

Cordifolium or pincushions are this week's seasonal bunch - their yellow colour and the orange on the ends of the pins cause them to appear like fireworks. The stems exist in a large range of colours and are popular as cut flowers as they last well in displays. Cordifolium grows in fields on very large bushes which can produce hundreds of stems each season when mature. In Australia, they are hardy enough to live in the hills surrounding Melbourne and Sydney. Their unusual shapes, their distinct colours and their natural beauty are just a few reasons we chose them this week.

With lilies in scarce supply due to the recent wind storm that blew through Northern NSW, our classic $30 bunch this week is 10 stems of disbuds - arriving in white, yellow, pink and lime green, they are a beautiful vase full of round blooms.

A dozen long stemmed roses are the selection for the $40 bunch - arriving from a local grower, their large heads open to a gorgeous full shape through the week.
Please email us at info@fridayflowers.com.au if you would like a bunch in your home this Friday.
