Glorious Pink

Pink flowers in October have become a symbol of support for the the fight against breast cancer and we were so pleased that one of the lilies from a local lily grower coming into season is the Triumphator. Usually grown in white, there is a pink variety and we are receiving it this week. This lily has a few names but I like Triumphator - from the Latin triumphus, meaning a triumphal procession or celebration of victory. I don't think there could be a better flower to take to my friend who is hosting a party this weekend to celebrate life after receiving an all clear after her recent treatment. That definitely deserves a triumphal procession.
