This week's flower is named as the exotic Arab’s eyes or Star of Bethlehem – quite timely as the Christmas windows are being unveiled in town today. Their rocket shaped spikes carry the star-shaped white flowers with dark centres hence the name. Their strong shape is well suited to a simple vase and provided their water is changed regularly, they may be enjoyed for many days on the Christmas countdown.
