One of my favourites is the seasonal bunch selection this week – tulips. There are many stories attached to the tulip but one of the better known is the mania or craze attached to the trade of tulips. Since their introduction to Europe in the mid 1500’s, the tulip quickly became a highly desired luxury item. Their trade of bulbs had its own life and their rise and fall was like any economic bubble. We can still enjoy them as a small luxury in our homes during the cold months. The classic oriental bunch is also available for order this week for $30 and long stem roses are still lovely as the $40 premium bunch.
