Lisianthus on 21/10/2011

Lisianthus are the seasonal bunch choice for this week and while it’s not a traditional rose, its American origin has given it the common name of prairie rose. With succulent green leaves and multiple buds unfurling through the week, they are very rewarding to have in the house. The $30 bunch is local spray roses this week leaving long stemmed roses to be the $40 option. Roses can be enjoyed for many days at home provided you take a little care when putting them in a vase. When you unwrap them, be sure to firstly cut at least 2 cm off each stem and put them immediately in water. Keep them cool and out of direct sunlight (though lisianthus can handle some warm sun) and be sure to change the water and re cut the stems every 2 -3 days. A little extra care but so worth the trouble for the pleasure they bring.

If you would like to order some romantic roses for your home this week or to send as a gift, just email your requests to info@fridayflowers.com.au
