Kangaroo Paw on 28/10/2011

Kangaroo paw, the floral symbol of Western Australia, is the seasonal bunch choice for this week. Discovered in 1792 near Esperance by a French botanist, its Latin name (too long to write) is inspired by its “oblique flowers”. It’s these unusually shaped velvety flowers which make it such a different and sculptural vaseful. Their colours are strengthened by the light intensity of the areas they are grown in. They are a flower that enjoys feeding as well so sugar in the water will help ensure you may enjoy them as long as possible. Early bunches of peonies are the $30 selection this week - appearing as a seasonal bunch in the next few weeks as supply grows.
There have been so many beautiful flowers selected over the last few weeks, the $40 bunch is a bunch “to order”. Let me know your favourite flower and I will put together your special bunch.
All requests through to info@fridayflowers.com.au and you can have some floral happiness delivered to your home this Friday.
