So here in the test kitchen, I have some fresh blossom sticks arrived today. Although the warm weather has bought these flowers out fast, they can still be enjoyed over the next few days. As the blossoms drift away, the lilies should begin to open. Pale pink and so pretty, this week, the seasonal bunch is a couple of blossom sticks teamed with some stems of lilies. They are tall and striking in a vase and I have loved having them in my space this afternoon.
The $30 selection will be blossom sticks with pink Oriental lilies – pretty and perfumed. They are the Sorbonne lily - big flower heads with pale pink petals and dark pink throats. Beautiful. The $40 selection is a potted mini phalaenopsis in a round twig pot. They are really fabulous and in yellow with dark pink centres the flowers are mini versions of the more usual larger blooms.
