As the weather warms up, flowers like stock are in their last weeks so we are taking the chance to enjoy them this Friday. They are locally grown and have a fabulous perfume. They are very pretty and most requests that come in for this flower is because it reminds them of an old fashioned garden. Its formal name is Matthiola – after an Italian physician and botanist. They are a long lasting flower but as they have succulent stems, you need to be careful to change the water frequently. With a beautiful clove like perfume, they are lovely in your home or sent as a gift.
(Note: a seasonal bunch is 5 stems and may be any one of the colours in the photo above)
The $30 bunch is actually a stem this week. A gorgeous long stem of cymbidium flowers – in 3 colours, pink, white or pale green, they are an elegant and beautiful selection.
A large double bunch of lisianthus is the $40 bunch selection. They continue to be beautiful and with a mixture of flowers and buds, they continue to open over many days.
